Camping FAQ

Review the common questions below for more information about camping onsite at Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire.
I want to purchase a spot next to my friends. How do I do that?

New this year, all guests who choose the Tent or RV Camping Packages (with Spot) can choose the exact location of their Tent or RV campsite during the checkout process. The only way to guarantee that you will camp next to your friends is to purchase multiple spots in the same transaction next to one another, or to coordinate your purchase timing to all purchase nearby spots. Different than years past, all Tent and RV spots are CHOSEN at the time of purchase. You will be able to see all available spot options during the checkout process.

When is camping check-in?

WMRF GUEST CAMPING CHECK-IN HOURS

Friday – 11 AM to 11 PM (if you arrive before 11 AM, you will be able to queue until gates open)

Saturday – 8 AM to 1o PM (we encourage Saturday arrivals to come as early as possible, as you will be dealing with day parking traffic)

If you plan to arrive after 11 PM on Friday for camping check-in, please email [[email protected]]. You may need to park in the parking lot and wait for camping check-in to open at 8 AM on Saturday.
What package(s) do I need for two adults to camp in a tent?
Tent Camping – Two Adults would purchase one (1) Tent Camping Package Primary w/ Space, one (1) Add-on Camping Package (Adult 18+)
What package(s) do I need for two adults and two children to camp in an RV?
RV Camping – Two adults/Two Kids would purchase one (1) RV Camping Package Primary w/ Space, one (1) Add-on Camping Package (Adult 18+), and two (2) Add-on Camping Package (Youth 6-17). If any of the children are aged 5 or under, they are FREE!
I have a Season Pass. Can I add on Camping to one of my weekends?
No. There is no add-on to Season Passes for Onsite Camping. If you wish to camp, you must buy a Camping Package, which automatically comes with day entry tickets (which is what is included in your Season Pass). You may TRANSFER individual day tickets within your Season Pass to a friend or family member via the AXS app, but you cannot RESELL individual tickets from within the Season Pass package.
How many people can stay in one tent space?
The tent space is limited to a strict 20’ x 20’ area. While guests are welcome to fit whatever they like in this space, we strongly encourage groups of more than 6 to purchase an additional camping space.
Are ADA Campsites available?

While no campsites are particularly designated as ADA, all campsites are exactly the same, differing only in their location on the campground. All sites are flat and campers have the ability to drive in/drive out of all sites throughout the weekend as needed. No campsites are “blocked in” by campers around you. The first (closest to the main road leading to the camping guest entrance gate) porta-potty is an ADA accessible unit. While there will be additional ADA porta-potties throughout the event, the first in each row of tent campsites will always be ADA accessible.

Can I park my car in my camping spot?
Please limit to one car per space in the camping area. Please do not park in the FIRE LANES. Additional parking for camping guests is available in a nearby overflow lot.
If I'm camping more than ONE weekend, may I leave my campsite set up?
No, please remove all belongings by 8 PM on each Sunday evening.
Can my friends visit me at my campground if they are not camping?
NO. Only wristbanded camping guests are allowed to enter the campgrounds at any time.
I am in an RV but my friends are in Tent Camping. Can I visit them?
YES. All campers, RV or tent, have access to the campground and are able (and encouraged) to socialize throughout the campground area.
Is the Food Court open for breakfast for campers?

From 8 AM – 9:30 AM, limited food vendors will offer hot breakfast items and coffee in the Food Court. Camping guests will have access to the Food Court beginning at 8 AM through the Camping Guest Entrance gate, and must leave the grounds by 9:30 AM and return to their campsites for re-entry at 10 AM when the Faire officially opens for the day.

Can I have a grill or fire pit at my campsite?

Anything with an on/off switch is allowed to be used on the campgrounds. Open flames are strickly prohibited.

Are there quiet hours on the campgrounds?

Yes – quiet hours are from midnight to 6 AM daily, following the conclusion of the Friday and Saturday Evening Shows. Please be respectful of your neighbors during Quiet Hours! There is no designated “Quiet Camping Zone” due to the nature of open field camping.

Will there be ice for sale onsite?

NO! Please come prepared with everything you will need for the weekend, including ice and fuel.

Can I switch my campsite after purchasing?

No. Unfortunately we are not able to switch camping spots that have already been purchased.

The only way to guarantee spots together is to coordinate ahead of time with your group and purchase them together/at the same time as the rest of your group.

However, you do have the option to put your original camping spot up for resale via the secure AXS resale platform and purchase the desired camping spot separately if you wish.

Follow these instructions to use the AXS Resale Platform:

  3. Review the bank account modal, then select Confirm.
